OSTROV HUDBY Film

Slovakia has recently seen an emergence of several initiatives helping to promote Slovak music abroad, and Ostrov Hudby is one of them. The initial idea dates back to 2016, when independent music labels joined forces and created the first compilation of music. Ostrov Hudby Film is the newest instalment of the project, offering a glimpse into the contemporary and non-mainstream Slovak music scene. The timing was perfect, as Slovak music is beginning to reach wider European audiences. Form-wise, the creators opted for language and tempo characteristic of contemporary online video. The film’s overall dynamic is made complete through frequent mood shifts induced by a wide range of Slovak music. The film is meant to be a useful and effective tool for the promotion of Slovak music abroad.
