Director Biography - Antonin Feraud

DIRECTOR BIO
Antonin Féraud is a short film director currently living in Paris, France. Born to a Korean-Canadian-American mother and a French father, Antonin had many different cultural influences that have shaped his heritage and his eclectic storytelling sensibility.
He is currently studying in the Director's Program at 3is Film School and received the Jury Prize at the Le Projet 72H festival for his student film: "Bête Noir."
Antonin was recently invited to attend the César Awards in Paris, as an honor for being one of the top film students in France. While, he's still finding his way in cinema, he knows his passion lies in his love of making funny, slow burning shorts shot in the streets, with a tiny crew.
Preferring the arts and crafts approach of practical effects and costuming, he has brought a giant cheese-headed man to life, served breakfast to and with aliens, chased a red ghost that haunts the Parisian metro, even forged a mighty typewriting Basilisk. He believes using these types of effects for his storytelling potentially opens doors for the spectator to think beyond the story and towards the craft, and hopes that his passion will instill and inspire the viewer to foster their own creativity.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
"011 Korrect" is a dark comedic film that shows one man's struggle when faced with the reality of what we've done to our planet; how our nonchalance and 1 aissez-faire attitude will inevitably come back to hurt us, and the acceptance of that.
We sometimes ignore the need to fix a broken sink until one day something goes terribly wrong. In Scuba Man's world, no one fixes the sink, and he is left to survive alone in a dried out ocean.
The scene is built upon a comedy of opposites, as the ocean meets the desert, scuba Man is simply a frustrated fish out of water who doesn't want to understand what went wrong for fear of discovering that it's him. It's why he is so stubborn and indignant throughout his journey.
"OK" is the neutrality.
"OK" is in between "Yes" and "No".
"OK" does not have an opposite.
"OK" doesn't lie because it can't, and it tells Scuba Man the truth when he starts questioning his acts, and his fate.
Inevitably, "OK" communicates that death is the only answer. That's what happens, we question our nonchalance - when it's time to die, it's too late to change.
I hope making and showing this film will awaken awareness and help us to get over our nonchalance.
