“Nun Vera: One Day of Life”

She had been addicted to heroin for eight years prior to her tonsure. She has been free from drugs for fifteen years now. She carries out her monastic obedience in the horse stable at the Rehabilitation Centre of St Elisabeth Convent.
Her life is an example of doing away with drug dependency through commitment to God. Recently, doctors have told her that she suffers from a deadly illness. She already knows the day when she is going to die. What is her day filled with? What are the thoughts that come into her head most often? What is in her heart? Nun Vera (Gordienko) shares her conclusions, anxiety and hopes with the viewers.

Director Biography - Anastasia Kobzareva

Anastasia Nikolayevna Kobzareva

Scriptwriter, film director

Born in Maladziečna, Belarus on March 10, 1982. Entered European Humanities University, School of Theology, in 1999. Starting in 2003, she took part in educational projects, namely Eurasian Communication Centre (Moscow): a course in radio journalism; the European Centre of Communication and Culture (Warsaw): a course in television journalism; Deutsche Welle Academy (Munich): a special course Video on the Internet.
She interned in Swedish and German editorial boards, then worked as an editor of an information agency, a newspaper reporter, and a radio host. She hosted Isnaść and Tajamnica Dušy Christian shows on a public TV channel in Belarus from 2006 to 2014.
Anastasia Kobzareva is the author of more than 20 video productions for Belarusian Broadcasting Company. She has been the author and the director of documentaries and video clips for the video department of the official website of St Elisabeth Convent (Minsk) from 2014 to 2019.
