Maxine was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri and is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in Filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago. She dedicates her work to projects that are outside of the box, socially driven, and innovative. She is the founder of the non-profit Protect Sisters Foundation, which is dedicated to raising money for Black Women in Film. She believes Art can change the world. She owns Pretty Brown Eyes Productions LLC , a Boutique Production Company where she writes, directs, and produces video projects.
I chose to make nowhere to run a horror/thriller style film because, how unprotected black women are in America, is horrorfying. I want to give the audience a taste of the fear that I have, from just being black woman born in America.
