‘The Queen of the Midlands’ is ready to embrace its 3rd edition of the Nottingham international film festival with the ethos of her most famous son, by bringing the riches of international film to the fair people of one of the U.K’s most historical cities.
The Nottingham International film Festival in partnership with Showcase Cinema De Lux takes place throughout the city over a three day weekend on the 2nd to 4th November 2018. The City’s new state of the art cinema Showcase De Lux, with its luxurious surroundings, ground breaking Sony 4K projectors and full Dolby Atmos Surround systems, will brilliantly platform NOTTIFF’s officially selected films as the filmmaker intended them to be seen.

Nottingham’s moto of ‘virtue outlives death’ is as bold as the many stories that have been told about this world famous city and its rich history of story is at the very core of this annual event that finds and showcases original narratives from around the world. NOTTIFF is now looking to stand up and be counted within the international filmmaking community and with ever increasing distributor and industry attendance the future is looking strong for the festival and its growing associates.

The official selection in past editions has featured exciting world and U.K premieres of feature length and short films from world cinema that portrayed everything from gripping indie thrillers to intriguing documentaries. Alumni premieres, line ups and guests have included Gabriel Byrne and Harvey Keitel starring LIES WE TELL, Ella Purnell’s ACCESS ALL AREAS, award winning doc ONE NOTE AT A TIME, Polish hit RAGE, SXSW’s INSATIABLE, and BAFTA winning OPERATOR.

This was a wonderful festival experience, and I highly recommend it. We were so warmly welcomed, everything went smoothly, was relaxed and fun. The cinema was amazing, and the short film screened before our documentary was very moving, they complemented each other. Nottingham is a great festival location. I was left wanting to return next year.

A genuinely friendly and supportive festival. Al and Neil took the time to personally welcome, take-care of and get to know us - and our film. There was a great variety of films on show, and not just films with high budgets as can sometimes be the case. It felt like a celebration of all things film, with everybody involved being open, engaging and up for exploring. Great place, great people.

I had the pleasure to receive a Best Music Video award for the first edition of this festival. The selection of films and shorts was unique and really enjoyable. The organisers were super nice and very helpful, and Nottingham a great place to host it. I'm sure the festival will keep growing in the upcoming years.
