Experiencing Interruptions?

Notes From Above The Clouds

Adham used to sell software in a suit and tie. Now he spends his summers looking after more than a thousand sheep at the top of Europe's highest mountain ranges. What has it taught him?

This is a story of a young person eschewing the life laid out for them. Preferring instead to reconnect to the natural environment and pursue a slower, albeit perhaps not easier, way of life.

Director Statement

I knew this film would be a joy to make when I first spoke with Adham. He is a man who seems wiser than his 29 years. At a time when when young people across Europe are increasingly disillusioned with the lives being laid out before them, I felt telling Adham's story was an important exploration of alternative approaches to living.

As interest in trends such as 'off-grid living', 'van life' and more continue grow, I hope this film can offer audiences the chance to consider their own relationship with modern urban life.

To spend time in the Pyrenees with Adham was a pleasure and I hope you enjoy the time that you spend there whilst watching the film. I owe a tremendous amount of thanks to Adham, and his two dogs Caly & Pax, for making this film possible.
