In this silent film, we have tried to capture the moments in between. The unsaid words and the open secret behind closed doors.

A notary officer has been working in the same office for years. Something is not the same today, something has changed forever. His colleague of many years from the other desk shares the same feelings. They know its not a perfect world. They must be happy with how things are, not to disrupt their lives. Even though they may be the notary officers that approve the lives of others in their society, they are not sure if the society will do the same for them.

Director Biography - Pooja Sampath

Pooja Sampath is a first time Director with this film – Notary. She is also a first-time screenwriter with this film. She has worked in the past in the digital video space as an Executive Producer on various projects. She has desperately wanted to move away from that commercial space and create artistic cinema which tells real stories of the people she has observed around her. She has wanted to speak up about the unspoken and poke at the taboos in her conservative Indian society. She always walks with a pen and a book making notes of the observations around her.
