Director Statement

Arthur Conan Doyle's "Round of the Fire or the Story of B24", initially caught my attention for it's humor. It won me over for it's cleverness. Adapting the story, I wanted to translate and share that sense of tense fun.

I'm fan of unconventional responses and creative solutions to traditionally tense situations, so naturally I wanted to see how these characters would approach opportunity amid unexpected problems. In other words - how would they make their own luck? And when they do, at what cost? "Not Everyone's So Lucky" is a fun noir about self preservation.

"Not Everyone's So Lucky" was submitted as my capstone project for completion of American University's M.A. in Film & Media Production. The film was developed and shot during Claudia Myers' Advanced Directing class. Post Production was completed after my graduation.
