Experiencing Interruptions?

Not Broken

All Winter wants is to be normal until she discovers what it means to be different.

Young Winter Knight is profoundly dyslexic and equally artistic. Despair sets in as she finds herself defined not by her talents but by her disabilities. As her dyslexia begins to impact virtually every area of her life, she becomes convinced that she’s hopelessly broken. Until, that is, she discovers the purpose behind her pain.

Director Biography - Lauren Havel

Sixteen-year-old filmmaker, Lauren Havel, decided to pursue filmmaking after attending a local film camp in 2018. Shortly afterward, using her brother’s borrowed camera, she created her first short film, I Hate Kate, which amassed over 7 million views on YouTube. At fourteen, she began working on a full- length feature film on-screen addiction, which she completed in a little over a year despite COVID lockdowns and subsequent restrictions. Lauren was presented with the Best Young
Filmmaker award for Screened In at an International film festival earlier this month. After taking a six-month break to work on smaller projects, Lauren embarked on her second feature film, 'Not Broken', about a dyslexic artist seeking to find her place in the world.
