As the writer and director, I wanted to create a story that mimicked the typical murder mystery trope’s that inspired me from the 1985 film; Clue, starring Tim Curry, while also adding a few twists from the book and television series; Goosebumps by R.L. Stein. I wanted to add a metaphorical meaning to my film, “Not Another Murder Mystery” to give a deeper meaning and understanding as to why I chose to use a murder mystery as the direction for the film.
My hope for this film is for the audience to interpret what the bigger meaning to the plot of the film was rather than what its main purpose was from its mystery genre trope. In the end, it was never really about solving the mystery, but rather to wonder why allowing one’s self to act as if nothing wrong was happening and letting the stressful and critical situation around you to continue to build up until the very thing that you ignored for so long eventually run’s your life for you, and you are no longer in control
