Not-So-Ex

Nam, a young man struggling to move on from his past love, Nhi, after a painful breakup. However, he can’t escape the presence of "Nhi’s ghost" – an embodiment of his unresolved emotions and lingering memories of her. Whenever Nam tries to flirt with someone new or start fresh, Nhi’s ghost always appears, mocking him and stirring up old feelings, causing him to fail. Nhi’s ghost constantly reminds him of his past relationship, making him increasingly frustrated as he realizes he hasn’t fully let go.

On the way to meet his best friend, Cuong, Nam and Nhi’s ghost have a humorous, back-and-forth conversation that reveals their natural chemistry, even through their obvious differences. However, at the café, as Nam listens to Cuong’s story about how he saved his own relationship by facing his feelings with honesty, Nam starts feeling even more pressure and uncomfortable with the comparison. The implicit contrast between himself and Cuong, alongside the admiration Nhi’s ghost shows Cuong, makes Nam feel increasingly inadequate and on edge.

After leaving the café, Nam and Nhi’s ghost engage in a fierce confrontation, symbolizing the clash between Nam’s logic and emotions. Under pressure, Nam admits he fabricated his reason for breaking up because he didn’t know how to confront his feelings and didn’t want to hold back Nhi’s future. From this point, Nhi’s ghost shifts from an obstacle to a supporter, encouraging Nam to give himself a chance to be loved.

Finally, at a planned group concert, Nam and the real Nhi coincidentally arrive before anyone else. Thanks to the journey he’s gone through, Nam has gained the courage to admit his feelings, opening a door for them to start anew.
