The Northwest Indiana Clean Air Short Film & Photography Web-based Education Series has a focus on films and photographs being submitted for educational purposes that create a call to action related to outdoor air quality in Northwest Indiana. We believe a story driven by passion has the power to foster new levels of social change and compassion and we want to hear your story. Thank you for helping us educate residents throughout Northwest Indiana on the very important topic of air quality.

Northwest Indiana Clean Air, a Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) Air Quality Initiative, is a partnership between individuals and businesses of Northwest Indiana to educate and inspire residents to join efforts to improve air quality throughout Northwest Indiana.

There is no monetary prize. Please see Rules & Terms.

Please read these Rules & Terms carefully before you submit your short film and/or photograph. By submitting your film and/or photograph in the Northwest Indiana Clean Air Short Film & Photography Web-based Education Series, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you shall be bound by these Rules & Terms.

Film and photograph submissions MUST be specific to Northwest Indiana, United States. Those that are not specific to Northwest Indiana will be not be considered for selection.

The Northwest Indiana Clean Air Short Film & Photography Web-based Education Series is open to short films and photographs that include the following messaging:

1. What air quality (specific to Northwest Indiana) means to the filmmaker or photographer
2. What air quality looks like in NWI Indiana (or in their community) to the filmmaker or photographer now and in the future
3. Creates a call for action and shows/explains how individuals can help improve air quality

We ask that all film submissions be 3 minutes or less and films and photography must not contain any profanity.

Films made in languages other than English should have English subtitles.

Each entrant warrants and represents that he/she is the creator of the submitted entry; the entry is original and owned by entrant: the entry is free of any claims by other parties.

All films and photographs submitted must be free from any legal disputes and the filmmaker must have cleared all rights for music and clips.

Northwest Indiana Clean Air and the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission does not cover any of the expenses incurred by the filmmaker or photographer.

Submitted films and photographs will be selected to be a part of the Web-based Education Series by Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission’s staff and partners. After films and photographs have been selected, the filmmakers and photographers will be notified and will be noted on Northwest Indiana Clean Air’s social media sites and monthly e-newsletter.

You agree to give Northwest Indiana Clean Air and the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission the right to use your film/image and language in their web-based education series initiative that has the Northwest Indiana Clean Air and Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission’s logo in addition to your personal credits. All filmmakers and photographers own the rights to their work.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Northwest Indiana Clean Air Short Film & Photography Web-based Education Series and the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits and publicity.
