The Northwest Film Festival accepts films of all genres. We are a film festival that cares about independent filmmakers and not about the size of your budget.

In its second year after a long hiatus, The Northwest Film Festival will screen a selection of short films hosted at the urban oasis of The Ascot Lot in Melbourne! While watching the films, choose from a range of craft beers on tap and refreshing cocktails with a selection of Melbourne's best food trucks. The Ascot Lot boasts the biggest outdoor beer garden in the North-western suburbs.

We are excited for our second edition and providing a platform for short filmmakers, web series creators or music video producers to showcase their work to an excited community!

Rules & Terms

All films are viewed fairly by the NWFF programmers and industry professionals. Filmmakers will be notified regardless of acceptance. All decisions are final.

Eligibility:

1. All short films, music videos or webseries are eligible regardless of premiere status.
2. Short films should not be more than 30 mins and music videos should not be more than 5mins
3. Foreign language films must be subtitled in English
