They are former militants under the FLN Federation in France. They are anonymous and are therefore among the tens of thousands of women and men who chose to fight for the independence. They came from different parts of the country and represent this broad spectrum of militant fabric.
Saïd Benmakhlouf, Hocine Addou, Aïdoud Hafnaoui, Saïd Saadi and Fatima Mehleb, each have an atypical career yet a common destiny, that of having been torn from their land to survive and support their families. They seem ordinary journeys at first glance, but extraordinary in what they subsequently gave for the country's independence.
