No man is an island
「No man is an island, Entire of itself, Every man is a piece of the continent, A part of the main.」—John Donne
It is quite normal for people to live with anxiety and discomfort in contemporary society. Perhaps these people desire to be understood, or even are seeking for help. However because of their struggle, they are regarded as aliens and further separated from others. Maybe it is this reason that many people can still feel lonely amongst the vast crowd. This piece investigates loneliness, and seeks to develop the relationship between people and the objects around them. It aims to explore the multiple inner emotions that coexist within the single individual.

Tseng Ching En is currently a graduate student at the School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts. She published her solo productions Inside My Mind and Inside My Mind II at the 2016 Taipei Fringe Festival and the 2019 Justin Dance Theatre – Midnight Theater. In 2020, Tseng received the creative project grant from the National Culture and Arts Foundation, and continued interdisciplinary cooperation. The co-artists and teams include Jillian Peña, Leigh Warren, Francesco D'Astici, Jenn Lee, Sunny Yang, and the Ear East Ensemble.
I started to explore more specific topics for artistic inspiration, such as interpersonal relations and social issues. Recently, I have been interested in pursuing interdisciplinary projects. I want to explore the different possibilities of dancing – experiment in different sensory stimuli for the audience, and attempt to cooperate with different medias.
