Noir

Film noir is a term coined by French critics to describe a type of cinema, mostly black and white, full of shadows and suspense.
Adopting the same aesthetics and ambience, in contrast to an admittedly contemporary soundtrack and movement, "Noir" was created for the Clash! Project from a series of premises designed by the different partners and which inspired a work in which the individual clashes with the group that is itself constituted by confronting entities. In this organized chaos, it is difficult to find who to point the finger at.

Marta Romero (Benicarló, 1988) has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. Currently, she combines personal projects such as “FACUNDA”, a documentary short film produced by Allegra Films and with the support of ICEC, recently premiered at IDFA 2020, and “TRINI” - documentary feature film produced by Distinto Films and selected in the Mentoring Projects of l‘Alternativa 2020 and the program “Acció Viver” 2018 by Dones Visuals - with the roles of audiovisual production, camera and edition. In 2010 she began to work as a visual artist in the world of dance with the choreographer Mauro Barahona. Three years later, thanks to a grant from the Baumann Lab Research Center in Terrassa, she developed the documentary project “RetrArts” where she investigated the ways of creating and showing themselves of 5 dancers from different areas, which premiered at the Terrassa Noves Tendències festival (TNT). In 2016 she made, together with Mauro Barahona, the documentary “Gira”, financed by the Chilean National Fund for Cultural Development and the Arts (Fondart). Her interest in moving bodies and flamenco lead her to work hand in hand with directors such as Marco Flores, Juan Carlos Lérida, Olga Pericet, Ana Morales, Karime Amaya or José Maldonado, among others. Since 2015 she has collaborated in the direction of advertising campaigns for entities dedicated to social aspects such as Amics de la Gent Gran, which works to improve the quality of life and accompaniment of the elderly, Rebobinart which fights to free space for creativity by urban artists, or Bracelets Candela, which is working to raise funds for childhood cancer research.
