Director Biography - Carlos J Benitez

As an artist hailing from the culturally rich borough of the Bronx, I draw deeply from my lifelong passion for horror and suspense films. Growing up in the South Bronx in the late 70s (while the Bronx was 'burning') gave way to a merger between my urban setting and a movie genre that allows me to explore the darker corners of the human experience through cinematic storytelling. As a New Yorker with a cultural duality (American and Latino ethnically), I’ve been profoundly influenced by its diverse artistic landscape and the collaborative spirit of its creative community.
