Director Biography - Sofia Goncharova, Lachlan Kendall

Born in Moscow, Russia, Sofia made the life-changing decision to relocate to Australia in 2019, where she reunited with her husband, Lachlan. Forming a dynamic creative duo, their collaboration has led to a number of projects, including their acclaimed short film "CAPTCHA," recognized at the esteemed St Kilda Film Festival. Completing film production studies at the University of Canberra, Lachlan brings practical expertise to their joint ventures. Sofia is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science (Psychology), incorporating the insights from her studies into the captivating film projects the pair develop.

Drawing inspiration from Sofia's own immigration journey, this project delves into the complexities of social acceptance and belonging. It also explores the influence of social media facades on one's self-perception, encouraging reflection on the intricate layers that shape human experiences, both in the real world and the digital landscape.
