Miles Fuemuller (aka Jake Brown) is an American screenplay writer, director and producer. He has co-produced non-scripted TV and news documentaries. Now, multi-hyphenating narrative works as a writer, producer, director and actor, Miles is focused on making films which explore complex characters and their emotional affects.
No Parking, Here to Corner is based on a true story. A first-hand and specific story which happened to me, yes. However, it's also a story we see play out every day on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. It's a story of a "Karen".
Why dramatize petty internet memes?
Perspective. Juxtaposing of the character types in No Parking, Here to Corner is as common as any of the Karen videos you'll see. The ending in this narrative is not.
A person with privilege goes about life with daily micro-events granted to them as default. Taking for granted this position enables a world view where a simple request and from another person to "squeeze in" is viewed as lazy, rude, uncouth, crazy or audacious.
We view the Karen meme as a narrative from one point of view. No Parking, Here to Corner forces us to confront that point of view.
