Director Biography - Catherine Royle

Catherine Royle is a Creative Digital Media graduate from IT Tallaght. During her studies, Catherine found her talents lay best in film and audio production. Catherine has taken on a role of technical producer at Dublin City FM on a show called The Kitchen Table and was public relations officer of ITT's Drama Society. Throughout her studies, Catherine’s admiration for writing and film making developed and in 2017, she made her directorial debut with her short documentary, No Ordinary Joe.

Director Statement

At 16 very few people his age have everything planned out, but Joe Walsh found a career path that he shows confidence in. Now 17 years old, Joe is one of the youngest rugby coaches in Ireland at one of Ireland's most prestigious clubs, Lansdowne FC. People are shocked at his devotion to the sport at his age. A strong spoken and intelligent boy, he is very grateful for how much respect his teams show him and their trust in his ideas. He admires his team’s ability to listen and it really says something for the game and highlights the community’s appreciation for him.
