From the sister cities of Juárez/El Paso, I'm a Mexican-American filmmaker living in Austin, Texas. A true believer that film can be an agent of change, I'm interested in exploring, voicing, and supporting Hispanic & Latino stories, which have been historically excluded from the silver screen. I have written, directed, and produced a variety of projects, both in English and Spanish, ranging from narrative fiction, documentaries, advertisements, music videos, and more. My work has been featured in multiple film festivals, showcases, and major sporting events around Mexico and the US.
Asking for help doesn’t make us weak, but rather brave and human. No Need to Worry is a short film that explores the struggles ensuing from the archaic idea of how the male parent should be the sole provider of a family. Having grown up in a Hispanic family, I have experienced firsthand the damage this idea can have on both parents, as they tend to forget the uncertainty in life, blaming themselves for things that are far from their control. The film dives into how living under this concept can lead to significant physical and psychological problems, not only in the parents but the family itself, only for not being open to solving the family’s problems like that, as a family.
