Tamara Farsadi earned her B.A. in Film & Television from Chapman University and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. Tamara has been a member of the WGAw Writers Caucus since 2006. Her screenplays have consistently placed in the top 5% of numerous writing competitions including: Cynosure, American Accolades, The San Diego Film Festival, Slamdance, The Austin Film Festival and Scriptapalooza. Tamara has twice been a Quarterfinalist for the Nicholl Fellowships and a finalist for both the ABC Creative Development Program and the Disney Writing Fellowship. She has been a selected participant of the IFP Market in New York as well as the Film Independent Screenwriters Lab in Los Angeles. Her spec feature and TV scripts have been selected for the 2nd Round of consideration for the Sundance Filmmaker Labs an impressive four times.
After graduating from AFI, Tamara went to work as a development intern for director Penny Marshall’s production company, Parkway Productions, on the Universal lot. From there she moved to The Walt Disney Studios where she has worked in various departments throughout Disney, including—ABC, Animation, Character Art, The Disney Channel, ABC Daytime, Digital Media, and the Motion Picture Story Department.
