With the help of his cellmate, Juan, Jeremy uses the power of his imagination to bring his now 10-month-old daughter, Camille, to life in the cell.

Director Biography - LaToya Franklyn

LaToya Franklyn is a writer and director. She first started her film career as an actor, appearing in several national commercials, TV shows, movies, and theatrical productions. As the only child of a single mother who worked 16-hour days, LaToya developed a passion for watching TV and writing at a very young age. She began with writing poems and songs and then moved into writing creative tales. LaToya’s desire to effect social change is a common thread among all of her works. She believes as an artist, it is her responsibility to provoke thought and spark conversations about how we can make our society a better place for all.

LaToya attended Vanderbilt University, UC Berkeley School of Law, and Harvard School Law. Prior to her career in film, LaToya worked as a criminal defense attorney and now works part-time as a transactional lawyer.

Director Statement

No Contact is inspired by my experience as a criminal defense attorney. I saw the toll incarceration took on my clients and their families. I wanted to write a story that showed an aspect of the prison experience we rarely see on TV or in movies. The feature length script is available for viewing upon request.
