Njord

For more than two months, in the heart of the polar winter and over a distance of more than 1000 kilometers in complete autonomy, two explorers will have to show endurance in order to achieve the set objective. Through the preparations, the daily life of the expedition, the challenges and dangers such as the icy wind, bears and poor visibility, they try to reach their goal. The commitment is big!

Director Biography - Caroline Cote, Vincent Colliard, Arnaud Bouquet

Caroline Côté is an adventure documentary filmmaker. She has filmed, produced, and directed several outdoor documentaries. In 2016, she filmed Pull of the North where she traveled for more than two months, by canoe in Alaska to meet the Athabascan peoples. Since then, she has directed web series, several short and feature documentaries including Traversées, 2019, (co-directed by Florence Pelletier) in the Far North of Quebec. Shooting in natural places, sometimes even in extreme conditions, is definitely one of her talents, but her passion lies above all in telling the story of humans and their vulnerabilities in the face of the dizzying force of nature.

Just back from the Svalbard archipelago, she co-directed with Arnaud Bouquet the documentary series Le Dernier Glacier, nominated for the Prix Gémeaux in 2 categories: "Best program or documentary series: health, nature, science and the environment", and "Best documentary series production: biography or portrait, arts and culture, health, nature, science and environment".

What inspires her to do this work is sharing inspiring stories. Her mission is to engage people in learning more about the subject of nature conservation . She has undergone extensive training at the Banff Center in Alberta to perfect her technique and capture highlights and powerfully inform them. She completed studies in the field of cinema and communication.

What drives us to want to take root in the forest, to go and discover, there, the authenticity of who we really are?

According to her, the quest for our personal mission must go through this need to connect with the true and the simple, with the people we meet on our way and with the nature that surrounds us and that we so often forget.
