Nina Rapi is an award-winning bilingual playwright. She is also a fiction and non-fiction writer and has just made her first film.
Nina Rapi's plays include: Angelstate (published in English, Greek, Slovakian and Italian); Splinters (produced in Athens, Thessaloniki and University of Oxford); What reality? Un/Certainties, Agries Nόtes, Kiss the Shadow, Reasons to Hide, Edgewise, the libretto Raven Revisited and many shorts.
Her plays have been presented or produced in Athens (e.g. Theatre of Piraeus, National Theatre, Theatro Technis, Onassis Cultural Centre, Theatro Voyiatzis) and previously in London (e.g. Southbank Centre, Riverside studios, Soho Theatre Studio, Oval House Theatre).
Essays by her on aesthetics and sexuality and essays by academics on her work have been published by Oberon, Routledge, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Mimesis Editione, Sokolis.
She has taught Creative Writing/Playwriting at Birkbeck, University of London and at the University of Greenwich. Her latest collection of short stories is Katastasi Fougas. She was the founding Editor in Chief of BRAND Literary Magazine throughout its duration.
She was born in Argos Orestiko, Kastoria. She has lived in London for most of her life but has now returned to Greece and lives in Athens.
