From an early age, I’ve been immersed in film and theater, landing roles in local commercials, background work in award-winning series, indie films, and theater productions across New Jersey and the Washington, DC area. Recently, I shifted behind the camera, beginning as a PA where I handled everything from making runs to gaffing. This transition led me to the Art Department, where I discovered a passion for makeup, FX makeup, and eventually set and production design.
My first official short script evolved into a series titled Before the Underground, which explores the early life of Araminta Ross, later known as Harriet Tubman. Through research, I was fascinated to learn that Tubman’s rebellious spirit against oppression began long before her well-known efforts to liberate slaves. As a woman of African American and Native American descent, I am deeply committed to shedding light on the history of my ancestors, much of which has been lost due to slavery, broken families, and systemic oppression.
One of my proudest accomplishments is writing, directing, and producing my first short film, Before the Underground: Volume 1 - Rit, with the support of talented friends in the local DMV film community. I’ve also launched my own production company, Buddylove Productions TV and Film LLC, and am developing several scripts, including the supernatural thriller Promise, the revenge drama Only My Sister, the love story Greener, and two shorts based on true events, That Which May Be Known and Here’s Your Bike.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to collaborate with skilled professionals in the industry, and I look forward to continuing my work in Production Design, Set Design, and Virtual Production Design, pushing the boundaries of creative storytelling.
