Private Project

Nihil Est Veritas

Two suburban girls full of leisure, unemployment and fueled by boredom, seek an escape from their comfortable and privileged routine.
Upon breaking and entering a suburban home, they will have a series of situations that range from: introspection, narcissism and the silent-but-deadly influence pop culture has had on contemporary youth psyche.

Their primal motive is explained through an initial monologue, which demonstrates a certain type of postmodern criticism of their suburban reality perception.

Although, initially intended as an escape from their worldly and fortunate routine, their "adventure" ends with brush-strokes of sadistic games and illegal violence; or, does it start there?

Director Biography - Fernando P. Parada

After dropping out during his third year from a Film Direction major in the Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Fernando returned to his hometown: Guatemala City (Guatemala).

During that initial period, Fernando worked as a Sound Assistant on Chris Kummerfeldt's ¨Hunting Party¨ (Hunter 11 Films/ 2014).
Next, he met Guatemalan-based Australian director Jesse Allan and started working as a Jr. Director for his production company: MEATSPACE; Fernando started directing his first corporate videos, TV commercials and music videos.

A few years afterwards, Fernando decided to start his own indie production company: KI:NO Videoclub.
With his company, he has produced & directed a few music videos, worked with boutique art direction companies, some art galleries and directed content videos for up-and-coming entrepreneurship projects.

Now, Fernando has decided to go back to his roots:
the dream of film directing.
Presenting his very first short film: ¨Nihil Est Veritas¨.
Hoping that by getting his foot on the door with this short film, he will become a feature film director in the near future.
