NIGHTLIFE
The streets are empty
As I crawl through the maze
Maybe someone, somewhere
Sees it differently than me
And I watch you smile
Your temptation is warm
Hot simmer nights
Strumming a summer song
And the time bangs on
And my heart still beats
Alive through the eyes of song
Leave it to my own defeats
And I wake up colder
The thought cuts me twice
So I’m gonna be somewhere
Strumming the nightlife.
NIGHTLIFE
I piece it together
As the days go by
Already lost the song I’m about to sing
As she slips through the nightlife
And through all this passion
One thing still remains
How I dig the nightlife
Slow, Dark, Insane.
And my view’s electric
Electric, shimmery and bright
Alive through the eyes of song
Leave it to my own device
Through my own undoings
Karma makes me high
So I gotta be somewhere
Strumming the nightlife
And the time bangs on
And my heart still beats
Alive through the eyes of song
Leave it to my own defeats
And I wake up colder
The thought cuts me twice
So I’m gonna be somewhere
Strumming the nightlife
And my view’s electric
Electric, shimmery and bright
Alive through the eyes of song
Leave it to my own device
Through my own undoings
Karma makes me high
So I gotta be somewhere
Strumming the nightlife

ROBERT RANKIN WALKER is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, concert producer and lol - “accidental” actor, having played the major role in the Emmy nominated “Your Keys Or Your Life” commercial in 2020. In 2018, Robert was selected to be production manager at the Hollywood Bowl for the sold out 17,500 person Randy Newman concert featuring the LA Philharmonic. This show was filmed for an HBO special.
His album THE SUN MACHINE IS COMING DOWN explores the complex nature of emotional conflict, desire, mis-understandings and ultimately, redemption. The longing for more than this in an often confusing, conflicted world. We’ve all been there. It’s a dark area. To move on from that album, he wrote BAJA MOON about rediscovering old desires and surrounding yourself in strange, yet familiar territory.
