Next station Paradise

This story is about a 25-year-old gifted poet Adam from a small, dystopian provincial town, who is forced by this drab environment to wear a mask of a «local figure of authority» in order to protect his friends from bullying. At last, he decides to leave this «hellhole» but not all stories have a happy ending.

A triangle love story with "Romeo & Juliet" crossover.

Director Statement

We all want to achieve «big» things in this life. Big things in career, love, life in general,
and even city-wise - like our characters, who wanted to go to a bigger city, where there
are more prospects, a different environment, where even the distances are bigger. And
like all of us, the characters must overcome difficulties and obstacles and go through
the dangers in order to achieve their «big» dreams. Although not everyone gets a happy
ending.
Everyone will see themselves in the characters of this film - me, you, your friend and
even your grandmother. The main target audiences of this film are the young people
who were born and live in post soviet space, and who were forced to go through
hardships and «unnecessary, but imposed» obstacles every day, and also the
«dreamers» from an older generation, who had dreams, too, when they were younger.
After this film, some will smile and feel touched, because they did achieve their dreams,
and some - the majority - will remain in their regret.
This film doesn’t have a specific genre. Drama, melodrama, comedy, tragedy, farce… All
of this you will see in 25 minutes. In other ways the film can be compared to Jean-Luc
Godard’s and Emir Kusturica’s works.
The film characters can be considered somewhat grotesque. For example, the
character named Pink Man, who uses his hearse not only for its intended purpose, but
also as a «motel». He wears a crimson costume, which resembles pimps from old
American movies. Though in the next episode he dresses as a priest and, reading a
prayer, sends away the deceased. In order to avoid any spoilers, you will meet the other
characters during the film.
