New Nina

Set in the 1960s, Nina, a good housewife, wants to go on a date with her husband Robert.

New Nina is 24 years of the brewing women's liberation portrayed as a cracked marriage that falls apart in 24 hours.

Presented in a Pleasantville meets Groundhog Day style over 24-hours, New Nina is inspired by "The Good Wife's Guide", true events during the women's liberation, as well as actual newspaper articles and magazine advertisements from the 1940s and 1950s ...sprinkled with some dark humour.

We're pulled into a typical routine day of a good housewife, Nina, in her seemingly picture perfect world.
She's married to devilishly suave, Robert. They live in a nice house, have a cat and two cars. They are the Jones' and keep up with appearances. Life seems perfect on the surface. Meanwhile in private, they live in old ways and are stuck in a routine that denies the reality of the actual changing world.

Housebound, Nina is heavily influenced by subliminal marketing from newspaper and magazine advertisements. Robert sees what's really happening in the world. She tries to be the perfect doting wife (probably a little too hard) and eagerly wants to go on a date with Robert, but he would rather do other things...

Nina feels shamed into hiding her flaws and who she really is, because she is lead to believe it doesn't fit the image of what the world should see of her; but the cracks begin to show.

After completely her housewife duties she goes out into the real world, only to have her eyes opened.
