This is my most personal movie to date. All my life I have wanted to make a movie about my struggles as an autistic individual, and I have finally done that with New Chapter. In addition to that, this is a therapeutic movie for me. I turned this into a summer hangout movie to serve as a portrait of memory and to embrace the friends I have in the present, as that is something I have had a lot of anxiety with. I hope New Chapter connects with others struggling with autism and social anxiety, and that all audiences find something to connect to while watching.
