New Baltic Cinema is an international short film competition launched in 2008 by European Film Forum Scanorama, one of the largest and most prominent international cultural film events in Lithuania.
The competition is dedicated to young filmmakers from the Baltic Sea reagion: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Germany
It aims to reflect the cinematic trends of these countries, their dominating topics and problems, while piecing together the outline of the future of Baltic film.

2 financial prizes handed out each year:
Best Short Film – 5 000 EUR;
Best Lithuanian Short – 3 000 EUR.

Main eligibility criteria:
- Films up to 45 min;
- Created in 2020 or later;
- No previous online or live screenings in Lithuanian cinemas or festivals prior to the Competition.
