2nd Generation, Korean-American, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Jesse Gi has steadily developed stories of endurance, sacrifice and unflinching ambition influenced by his immigrant family and community. Jesse discovered his passion for filmmaking late in high school and transferred into USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he first learned the craft of filmmaking and storytelling. Post graduation, Jesse worked as an assistant across studios from Lucasfilm, Warner Bros, and Netflix. He took his newfound skills and knowledge to create short films such as Beam, a grounded sci-fi, action drama about a teleporting thief, and Neh, a comedy-drama about a Korean-American, with no Korean language skills, trying to impress his date. Jesse strives to create immersive, unique, and relatable films that hope to bridge gaps across all walks of life.
