Director Biography - Isa-Lee Jacobson

Isa is an experienced filmmaker based in Cape Town, South Africa, specialising in documentary films. Her expertise extends to investigative journalism, writing, producing, shooting, directing, researching and editing, with a strong foundation in film editing and post production that has greatly enhanced her skills as a cameraperson and videographer.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of filmmaking for her is the ability to use this powerful medium to support charities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). She has had the privilege of creating short documentary-style videos for notable NGOs like The Egmont Trust (UK), Habitat for Humanity, and Harambee, spanning across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Lesotho and Malawi.

In 2024 she completed a 75-minute documentary film she produced and co-directed for the BBC, after four years of extensive research and filming. This poignant film delves into the dark narrative of a racist serial murderer during the apartheid era in South Africa, shedding light on the profound impact he had on the victims' families.
