Poetry can be found when looking all around us. This festival focuses on the poetics of nature and environment, and will take place in November (21 and 28) at the Cultural House of Islands Brygge, a municipality in Copenhagen as well as virtually.

The Organizers:

The Poetic Phonotheque started in 2020 as an audio collection of poetry from all over the world which now counts with over 100 poems in the voice of their authors, in all languages.

In 2021, Kulturhuset Islands Brygge (Copenhagen, Denmark) became the official home of the Poetic Phonotheque, to house its audio collection and launch a second round of poetry open calls to collect audio poetry recordings in every language with the theme of climate, sustainability, nature, and our planet's preservation as the focus.

To take it a step further, we are launching our first film festival call, to invite you to submit your films on this important subject, whether they're animation, short film, poetry film, experimental, or documentaries. The selected films will be screened during the Culture Night of the culture house this November 21 and 28 of of 2021 here in Copenhagen, and will also appear on the Poetic Phonotheque's website.

Poetry films are invited to remain as part of the permanent video collection of the Poetic Phonotheque.

-All the selected films screened during the festival will also appear in an anthology book that includes stills of the film, a synopsis, and additional information of its creators.
This book will also include a selection of poetry from the audio collection on the same theme, as well as illustrations.

-All the video poems or poetry films submitted will be added to the permanent collection of the Poetic Phonotheque and screened in Kulturhuset Islands Brygge here in Copenhagen during special viewing times.

As this is a festival taking place during a Culture Night in Copenhagen at the Culture House, we're looking for films of a cultural nature with a focus on environmental conservation, nature, appreciation to our planet... and with a poetic angle.

The poetry videos submitted will be also added to the Poetic Phonotheque, an online archive that aims to document the poetry being created all around the world.

Absolutely no homophobia, racism, sexism or any discriminating messages. This is a festival of inclusion, tolerance and support for our communities, which aims to create awareness, entertain, and inspire the public.

I was happy to show my film Come Closer at the festival. Although I was not able to be there in person the online program was excellent.

It was a pleasure to be part of Nature & Culture PFF's first year! Elizabeth and the team made me feel so welcome and organised a great atmosphere right next to Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. The screening room had tables with candles and cushions/blankets if you wanted to sit on the floor, which created such a cosy environment. And the films themselves were fascinating. There was an additionally a stimulating panel from XR (extinction Rebellion). I only wish more people went!
