Student Project:Yes - University of Suffolk
Born in Suffolk and raised in the English Countryside, he has written and directed 7 short films across his three year period as a student at the University of Suffolk (UOS). with the goal of becoming a writer and director. All films were self-financed, made through working at various part time jobs
and wherever necessary.
His work presents a strong, visual style that supports gripping
narratives. Exploring intimate character studies, often
focusing on the struggle of the underdog combatting
overwhelming forces and delving into mental fragility and trauma.
This film is a practice in action and reflex. While making the film it became similar to telling a joke, where timing and delivery are key. I wanted every setup and delivery to build towards an unpredictable conclusion. Spaghetti westerns were a great inspiration for the hot texture
Building tension as they too followed the same rules as jokes. I Want the viewer to see this dance in blocking and composition and be captivated to guess what next, react this way, shoot this or run from that and in the end to be surprised by its delivery.
