Nathan Flores (he/him) aka Nayden, is a rising Filipino-Canadian Artist and Filmmaker based in Winnipeg, Canada, who writes, directs, lenses, and edits his own short films, music videos, A/V installations, and other indie projects. His work explores a deep connection to memory, nostalgia, self, and longing for what once was, or was never there to begin with.
Nayden's talents have been recognized on a national level, earning a Best Student Cinematography nomination from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) for his debut short film "1000 Paper Cranes'', as well as "Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography" and "Best Young Filmmaker" at the Los Angeles Indie Short Fest. Nayden's video exhibit, “Tell Me When The Time Has Come”, was presented at Kultivation Festival sponsored by CBC Manitoba, and his multimedia exhibits, "The Renaissance of Memory" and “Closure”, premiered at Nuit Blanche in 2022 and 2023. His newest short film, “Memories of Youth” (CBC Gem) won Best Cinematography and Best Editing at UWPG Film Festival and was nominated for an award in Sound Editing, and has screened at festivals both locally and internationally. Nayden is evolving his artistry as an emerging talent, crafting innovative narratives across diverse mediums that offer a deeply personal connection with his audience.
