Natalia Pimentel is a filmmaker, social educator and co-founder of the independent production company Oito e Meio Filmes, graduated from the PUCRS cinema faculty through ProUni. She also has a degree in Advertising from Escola Técnica Irmão Pedro and a professional course in Animation at Escola de Artes Animact. She acted in several short films with careers in festivals and awards. Her work as a screenwriter for the documentary Sinal de Alerta: Lory F, was awarded Best Editing and Best Film at the 2022 edition of the Gramado Film Festival. In the same year she was present at the Marché Du Film participating in consultancies with her project Bipolar Goddess. In 2023 she completed her last film, Carta ao Pai, which is circulating at festivals and won the Luiz Roese Journalist Award, an Honorable Mention for films with themes related to youth and prevention at the Santa Maria Video and Film Festival. She participated in several scriptwriting and creative writing workshops and was a student of big names, such as Paula Markovitch, Larry Wilson, Valesca de Assis, Jeferson Tenório, Luiz Antonio de Assis Brasil and Jéferson Assumção. She currently teaches Cinema workshops and is a Literature major at UFRGS, where she also participates in the Social Movements Extension Project of the Department of Social Service. In her writing work, she has works published by Subtextos magazine. She believes in art as a form of resistance and an agent of change, and considers it an essential element in her life.
