Natal

Natal, in his early fifties belongs to a generation that broke social barriers, worshiped cerebral movies, drugs and rock’n roll. However, he does not accept it well when Milene, his only daughter, takes her boyfriend to sleep at home with her. In the middle of the night, unable to put a stop to the sex in the next-door bedroom, he locks himself in his car parked in his building garage. That’s when Silvana, his wife, comes after him. In the quietness of the late night, only witnessed by the parked cars and the garage surveillance cams, Natal tries to unburden his difficulty to accept costumes for which he fought so much. He ends up telling his wife secrets about his past, he has an epiphany: he was never young. Now, being in his early fifties, he doesn’t need to like what everyone else liked, do what everyone else did, be as everyone else was. He is old, he has always been. However, Silvana’s memory says the opposite and he sees himself back to his past and younger than ever.

    Author, screenwriter, director, producer and actress, in the business since 1982, Theresa graduated in Performing Arts at Tablado Theatre School and Uni-Rio, both located in Rio de Janeiro. She took part in several theatre plays as an actress and in over 30 plays as a producer, such as: “Mary Stuart” , super production of 1997, based on the text by Friedrich Schiller, directed by de Gabriel Villela and stared by Renata Sorrah e Xuxa Lopes; “Querido Mundo” (Dear World- 2008) written by the popular Brazilian author, director, and actor Miguel Falabella; “O Altar do Incenso” (The altar of Incense)- production of 1999 with the late Brazilian theatre Diva Marília Pera Since 1999, she has worked as author / screenwriter at Globo TV Network, having collaborated in its extremely popular soap operas such as “Cordel Encantado” (Enchanted Cordell) and “Avenida Brasil” (Brazil Avenue) besides humor and children’s programs. Nowadays she is co-writing the remake of “Elas por Elas” (Them by Themselves), soap opera originally written by Cassiano Gabus Mendes. Theresa is the main partner of Prospera Produções, Production Company responsible for the short film Natal, in which she also works as an actress.

Director Biography - Isabella Secchin

Isabella Sechin, Actress and TV, Theatre and Movie Director, started her professional career in 1977.

In the movies, she worked as an actress in the feature films “ARCANOS, O JOGO” (Arcane- The Game) by Yoya Wursc, “DAS TRIPAS CORAÇÃO” (Heart and Guts) by Ana Carolina, “O HOMEM DO PAU BRASIL” (The Brazil Woodman) by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, “BAR ESPERANÇA” (Bar Esperanza) by Hugo Carvana, “ROCK ESTRÊLA” (Rock Star) by Lael Rodriguez, “ALVORADA SEGUNDO KRYZTO” (Dawn According to Christ) by Paloma Rocha.

As Production Assistant, she worked in the short film “SUSPIROS REPUBLICANOS AO CREPÚSCULO DE UM IMPÉRIO” (REPUBLICAN SIGHS AT THE TWILIGHT OF AN EMPIRE) by Rosane Svartman and José Lavigne.
As director and scriptwriter, in “UM ESPINHO DE MARFIM” (A Thorn of Ivory) by Luiz Fernando Bruno and Isabella Secchin, adapted from Marina Colasanti’s tale, among others. She has recently directed “Natal” short movie produced by Thereza Falcão, with the screenplay adapted from Lili Raniére’s story.

In the theatre, besides several other nominations, she won The Coca Cola and Membembe Awards in the categories Best Play and Best Production, Best Actor and Best Costumes Design with “Lili, Uma História de Circo” (Lili, a Circus History), written by Lícia Manzo.

TV director and assistant director, nowadays she works as acting- drama coach at Globo Studios, being responsible for preparing the cast of soap operas, series and other products.
