Description and Synopsis:
The short film Nancy is my first time directing a film. It’s a thriller film, but the concept is to remind people to protect their privacy and female safety overall. The protagonist Nancy is a single living female office worker, during her normal routine day, there is a stranger who seems to follow her everywhere she goes. After work, on Nancy’s way home, Nancy noticed something was wrong, footsteps behind were getting closer. She rushes back home and locks the door, finally she thinks it's safe. Then Nancy relaxes and goes to the bed, but just when Nancy is about to sleep, someone wearing Nancy’s suit and skirt is quietly watching and standing next to the bed.

Director Biography - Zhenyu Zhuang

Zhenyu Zhuang is currently studying for a Master of Moving Image in University of Sydney. Zhenyu can do many roles in a production crew such as director, cinema-photographer and producer, he is also very adaptive to new roles and challenges. Moreover, even with limited time working in the film industry, with Zhenyu’s past experiences working in a construction team, he is very good at communications and teamwork organization. Zhenyu has done different genres of short films in his study career, and he also has a social media account that mainly uploads his race car videos.
Zhenyu was studying Engineering in his Bachelor years. But soon after the influence of his friends who studied Moving Image, he started to learn the basic camera movements and editing. Then after he finished his bachelor study, he started to make his videos with some narrative elements. Moreover, Zhenyu applied for the Master of Moving Image in University of Sydney to learn about film making in detail. Therefore, step by step, Zhenyu comes a long way from his first edited video in his bachelor year which looked very rough and contained minimal narrative elements to different genres such as Drama, Documentary, Animation and Promotional video.
Even though Zhenyu has not won any film award or gets any recognition by the film industry yet, he is aiming to win an award in his final semester in school with his final project. Therefore, Zhenyu is a man with versatile interests, and willing to accept new challenges in the future career.
