Nadejda means hope in Russian. She was raised in a Yakut village in ex-USSR by her grandparents and her uncle before moving to France with her parents when she was 7. Nadejda grew up with a French father who was fond of movies and wants to pay forward what films brought to her. So she moved to Los Angeles four years ago with her husband.
Nadejda found an internship in production by knocking at the doors of 200 film production companies in Paris. Then she took a production course and landed another internship where she read many screenplays, mainly in English, and wrote their coverage.
Since then, she has worked as a production assistant and coordinator on multiple projects in France, mainly commercials and documentaries. Since she moved to Los Angeles, Nadejda wrote, produced, and shot her first short film, which won several awards for its screenplay and film.
These past couple of years, she’s been working for the producers and writers-directors of Air Bud Entertainment in Malibu. Eager to learn, Nadejda has taken several courses to understand better film-making with Film Independent, Scott Myers, UCLA Extension, Yellowbrick (an NYU program), Masterclass.com, and Stage 32.
Since Russia started a war against Ukraine in 2022, Nadejda put aside the Siberian screenplays she has been working on to focus on one feature screenplay for the young American audience. In addition, she intends to shoot three short films in 2023 to gain experience in her directing craft.
