We greet you all on the behalf of NEPAL CULTURE AND FILM CENTER (NCFC). We are very glad to take this opportunity to introduce to you to our 4th edition of NEPAL CULTURAL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (NCIFF), which is going to be held In December.

The festival will be held for three days where guests, delegates and the audience will be able to enjoy the grand inaugural ceremony, closing award ceremony, some panel discussions, Master classes along with Screenings (best nominated film national and international full length films, human Rights films, short films, documentary films, women's films, children films and animation films)

We encourage students/independent filmmakers to attend and learn from our guest and judges about specific topics from the films, Film making, related media and the film business through screening.

Support from our sponsor will be used to produce the festival film, bring filmmakers and other artists to the host city for the mega event. We also invite professionals from the film industry to attend and spend a quality time at the festival premises in order to exchange cultural diversity globally.

Our first festival got immense success and exposure to the film community both national and international. Four hundred films were submitted from 21 different countries. We had well known film authors, consultant and juries from international level. Over 5000 of audiences joined and attend our festival.
Our second festival was supposed to happen at Toronto, Canada at TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX but due to current circumstances OF COVID -19, we are forced to organize it through virtually. We have successfully organize our second festival online where more then 24 countries took participation which was held from 1st December to 29th December-2020.

Similarly our 3rd editions was successfully conducted on 1st December to 3rd December 2021 at Nepal Tourism Board and Film Development Board Nepal, Kathmandu Nepal. 107 films were nominated from 50+ countries. 25 different categories awards were awarded to the the national and international winners.
Now we are open to 4th edition Which will be held in December -2021. The festival will run for three days. Exact date and venue of the festival will be announced on 1st August through our official page and press meet.
During the festival period, panels discussion on the human rights topic will be organized, in which human rights activists, human rights film makers, human rights organizations, human rights experts, NGOs and INGOs will be invited to take part. In addition, a separate master class with international guest experts will be organized where national and international filmmakers will be invited to attend.
The selected films will be screened, accompanied by Q&A sessions with selected filmmakers, directors and producers.

The purpose of the NCIFF is to encourage young talent in film making and to promote children, women, cultural and teen films that are meaningful and inspirational across the world.The festival has some of the most famous, award-winning filmmakers from around the world, screening their films at the festival. These movies are the benchmark for what a good film should be: entertaining, clean, hugely inspiring and packed with moral values!

NOTE: Cash Prize for National and International Awards will be announced through press release.

The films produced during 2018 and 2022 will be eligible to participate in this section. The films need to be based on at least one aspect of society and culture. They could be among above categories. The films need to fulfill all the criteria set by the organizing committee.

Rules and regulations:

-Provide films and a brief introduction to the film along with a signed cover letter.
-Films in languages other than Nepali must have subtitles in English.
-Two copies of the films must be In Mini DV or DVD in PAL format except for online submission.
-The submitted copies will not be returned and will be archived in the Film Center.
-If selected the film Center may ask theatrical format based on the film festival venues.
-The film center will not cover expenses to and from the festival for the DVD’s as well any other expenses incurred.
-The Film Festival will not return entries or refund entry fees.
-The Fees are waived submissions from Nepal due to inconvenience of online payment

Selection of Film
-The selection committee formed by the Film Center will select the films.
-Film selection decisions made by the selection committee will be final.
-Cinematic value, creativity as well as social complexity will be given a high consideration.
-Selected films will be asked for the publicity material for the festival.
-The Film Center will not disclose the reason for the film not being selected.
-Films submitted later than deadline will not be accepted. Any submission received after the submission deadline will not be reviewed for 2022, but will be forwarded to the selection pool for 2023.

Jury and awards:
A jury committee of national and international film experts will be formed. The jury committee will select the films for a selection of awards. All films will be recognized by the film festival.
