Private Project

WE WILL MEET AGAIN

“Po mwin Maloya li la ral a mwin dann landrwa zoli” dixit the voice of Danyèl Waro. In this very first documentary short film, this is what I am trying to do. I want to fix your gaze on a landscape unknown to some. I want to show “this pretty place”, which cannot be reduced to its beaches and its volcano. A tradition, the picnic. One moment, Sunday. A landscape, Reunion Island. Components of my memory but not necessarily yours.
Today it is for you and especially for me, that I tell the story of my family, my island and my memory. It is for me that I capture bodies, so that frozen behind a screen, their heat continues to warm my heart, even ten thousand kilometers away. I offer these few minutes to anybody in search of warmth; to all the bodies too far from their island, their loved ones and their memories; who, just like me, dream of seeing them resonate throughout the world.

Director Biography - Célia Marie Flavie BERBY MAILLOT

Student in the 2nd year of a Bachelor's degree in Cinema and Audiovisual at La Sorbonne Nouvelle, she has been interested in the cinema industry since she entered high school. Originally from Reunion Island and having lived there all her life, she would like to bring to this environment an imagination and stories as unique as they are original, but still very little represented on the screens.
