Story synopsis – Maharani Sugandha is known for her beauty and dance in the region ruled by Maharaja Abhimanyu Singh. Maharaja Abhimanya singh was very conservative and he dominated rani Sugandha, without giving much time to her. On the other hand rani sugandha was very soulful , romantic and artistic in nature, and was one of the best kathak dancers of her time. But she never got chance to showcase her beauty and dance to the strictness of Maharaja.
There came a time in rani sugandha’s life when she she fell in love with a middle aged man, highly educated and handsome from a middle class family, who stayed at a time nearby. They used to meet each other frequently when maharaja abhimanyu was out for work. Rani sugandha was very happy to come out of the shell and express her romance and to be with such a classy person, who was also a great painter. One day the man did paint a sketch of Sugandha, which Maharaj all of a sudden saw while coming back to Mahal. Maharaj also saw them making love together and became angry, finally shot the man with his rifle.
Presently Rani Sugandha has become old and she is now at the mahal, all alone , as raja abhimanyu has passed away. While thinking about her past , she suddenly got a gift from someone, given by the caretaker of mahal. She opened the gift rapper and felt surprised to see the photo frame of the same sketch which her lover painted for her. She became emotional and broken. Ran down the steps of the courtyard towards the main gate, but didn’t find anyone, left all alone, frustrated and full with sorrow.
