WE AWARD WITH FEEDBACK - Our team of specialist Judges provide a range of numeric and bespoke, written feedback for each film that makes it through the initial selection process. We provide two tiers of feedback for successful submissions...

Numeric Feedback - We're delighted to be able to provide numeric feedback to ALL successful entrants to our film festival. This level of feedback is a 1to10 grade across 10 different categories like 'worldbuilding' for example.

Written AND Numeric Feedback - We provide both numeric AND written feedback to our top 30% ranked submissions. Written Feedback is a short paragraph - up to 100 words - that may express things the judges liked, disliked or even just simple praise - this will be different for each and every film.

Rules & Terms

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Mythic Film Festival is on the hunt for the best genre shorts across Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, adventure, comedy, student and international genres.

Submission Format
Films must be submitted via online screener.

Running Time
All films must have a run time of between 1 and 20 minutes. We do not accept films that run beyond 20 minutes.

Submission Eligibility
- All submissions must have been completed after 1 January 2017.
- Works-in-progress and films with distribution are not accepted.
- Films must not have received more than 50% of their funding from a studio or broadcaster.
- All films not in the English language are required to have subtitles.

Film Classification
We are open to films of all recommended age classifications. We have no censorship rules on gore, violence or nudity. We will not tolerate cruelty to animals. We will not tolerate films in poor taste regarding issues like race or sexuality if it does not serve the plot.

Submission Fee
All FilmFreeway submissions for Mythic Film Festival are to be paid by credit card or PayPal. The submission fee is non-refundable.

Selection of Films
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
- Quality of narrative and production values
- Independent nature of the production

Notification
Mythic Film Festival endeavours to complete all selection procedures by August 31st and inform all submitting parties, via FilmFreeway, if their film has been successful or not after that time. In rare circumstances, the judging process may take longer than anticipated, so we reserve the right to roll over this date should the need arise.

Festival Screenings
We are an online-only festival and thus do not hold screenings. We endeavour to provide value in other ways - like awarding feedback with nearly all our successful submissions.

Feedback
We do not provide feedback to films which do not pass our initial approval process. We endeavour to provide numeric feedback for all successful submissions. We endeavour to provide written feedback to the top 30% of ranked shorts in each genre. This ranking is determined on a numeric scale during the judging process. Written feedback is no more than 100 words and is at the judges discretion regarding the content of the feedback.

Scheduling
Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, Mythic Film Festival reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. Mythic Film Festival will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling.

GENERAL AGREEMENT OF PARTICIPATION IN MYTHIC FILM FESTIVAL:

By submitting to the Mythic Film Festival I confirm that I have read and accept the terms and conditions of Mythic Film Festival. I will provide the festival with any additional information required pursuant to these rules and regulations.

I certify that I hold all necessary rights for the submission of this film/video to the Mythic Film Festival and that all rights and clearances have been made. This film is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation.

By Agreeing to these terms, I transfer to Mythic Film Festival the right to use excerpts of the submitted film, its stills, and trailers, for the purposes of publicity and marketing of the festival, and for other non-commercial uses related to the promotion of the 2019 festival. I hereby agree to indemnify Mythic Film Festival, in the event that such rights have not been properly transferred.
