Paul was born and raised into show business (the British Funfairs community), and now spends his professional time both in front and behind the camera. Acting credits include the lead role in the feature "Four Hours" and the TV series "Autopsy: The Last Hours of", as well as a number of uncredited roles on other projects.
With a reputation for being punctual, well prepared and easy to work with, Paul is an actor, writer, director and producer with a great deal of knowledge on the inner workings of a film set and is able to bring out the best in himself and his fellow cast and crew.
As a father of two children, he likes to keep a sensible work life balance in order to spend time with his family and the friends he has made along the way.
I made 'My Only Relative' because it is a strong story that needed to be told and because it takes us on an intimate journey with the characters familiar from our everyday life but also into a community that is pretty much closed off to most of us, unless, like me, you were born into it. It offers a tantalising glimpse behind the curtain of the way of life within a British funfair.
I've known since I was nine years' old that I wanted to make films, tell stories and once this idea came to me I was compelled to write it.
I was driven to write and direct 'My Only Relative' to get this unique story out to the world, not only the relatable truths of life, that are a common to us all that are in the primary theme of the screenplay but to also to bring a more equitable representation of British showmen and their families and their way of life. Although this aspect is a secondary theme for the film I appreciated the chance to explore this and found a way to interweave the two of them.
This story deserves to be told and the compelling narrative alongside a real plot-driven story will keep you guessing right until the reveal, and beyond.
An audience would want to see this film because, put quite simply, they have not seen anything like it before. A film telling a unique story from a unique perspective - a 'love conquers all' victory that has a singularly British flavour!
My Only Relative. A story so true, it is quite unbelievable.
