In My Moon Is Your Moon, the protagonist, Simon awakes to a subtle gleam peering in through his bedroom window. He becomes mesmerized by its beauty. The sight gives him the courage to take a leap he'd been hesitant about. He grabs his skateboard and arrives at a park. There, he puts together a makeshift bouquet and invites his crush to join him.
When Ethan arrives the two boys lay in the nearby meadow and gaze at the bright ball in the sky.
Feeling empowered, Simon heads back home, ready to open up to his mom about his identity.
