My Ladakh

This musical documentary explores the minds of young rappers of Ladakh, a cold region surrounded by the Himalayas in India. In the region where rap culture is pretty much non-existent, these young Ladakhis choose rap to raise their voices in society. Known for its pristine landscapes and simple lifestyle, these rappers bring forth the unseen and unspoken side of Ladakh. Addressing inner demons and conflicts around them, these modern-day poets bring you what they call 'protest poetry'.

Director Biography - Kartikey Das

I'm a photographer turned cinematographer. I shifted towards cinematography because I realised that there's only so much of a story you can fit in a single frame and I had so much more to tell.
I'm a filmmaking student currently studying the art of cinema and storytelling visually.
