My Land
Under a new administration, the United States creates an “Immigration Deportation Force” whose sole job is to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. Miguel, a stubborn Salvadoran father of two, barricades his family inside their home in order to to avoid deportation. But not everyone agrees with his decision.

Sandra is an independent film writer and director based out of Northern Virginia. "My Land" is her most ambitious project to date. In addition to narrative films, she has also directed music videos for local artists.
We want to believe that the dystopian future in the film would never happen in the United States, that Congress or the Supreme Court would never support or allow the creation of a "Deportation Force," but during our research we were reminded of the Executive Order that led to Japanese internment camps. The U.S. government failed to act humanely in that moment of history and it is our duty to stop injustices like that from happening again. Since my involvement in this film I have been more active in the fight for immigrant rights and reform.
