My Heart & Soul

My Heart & Soul is a feature length independent film. A romance dramedy centered around Nefertari Jones, an aspiring relationship coach. Neff is a multidimensional woman, on a journey of self discovery trying to “figure it all out”, all while navigating through the many energies and windfall experiences of life; therefore, balance is not optional in her non-conventional life - it is required.

My Heart & Soul cultivates an afrocentric elevated lifestyle and a culture of free thinkers. It’s an evolutionary, African reality with a West End Atlanta heartbeat. It’s vegan, soul, sex, and sage. It's locs, afros, and headwraps. It’s all-natural like cannabis, kale, and cucumbers in your salad. It’s fresh, raw, and real.

This film explores “entanglements” within the African-American community and promotes the “how to” for beginners in the “untangling” of your past, leading to healing and loving yourself.

Director Biography - Naditu Ma'at

Naditu Ma’at is a rising star working her magic not only producing her own work, but also building a platform to assist others in bringing their stories to life. She took a leap of faith into the unknown thirteen years ago, leaving Fort Worth, Texas where she was born and raised, by moving herself and three children to Atlanta, Georgia. Her love for the visual art forms of photography, drawing and painting expanded as she was exposed to the growing southern movie capital and began working on various film sets.

To further perfect her craft, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production from the Art Institute of Atlanta. While earning her degree full time, she simultaneously worked full-time to support her family and fund her vision of one day owning her own production company.
While her primary focus is directing, producing and scriptwriting, she has also sat in the casting and assistant director chair on her colleague’s projects. In four short years, her company has led production on music videos, infomercials, promotional videos, a documentary and various short films. Her short film Funkytown, has been included in film festivals The Lift-Off, First-Time Filmmaker and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime for your viewing pleasure. Her skills allow her to create entertaining bodies of work while weaving in relatable personal experiences.
As she continues to climb, she concurrently reaches back; seeking out the untapped gems in her city to hire as cast, crew members and production assistants. She knows firsthand the importance of community and allowing a space for others to fully blossom. Her creative abilities expand beyond the lens pouring into her own selfcare line Naditu Ma'at Heart & Soul Essentials. The brand name is a nod to the only way she knows how to work – with her heart & soul. Catch up on past projects and stay updated on upcoming releases at www.flowpage.com/naditumaat
